Accessibility at The Center.

We want every neighbor in Cheyenne County to be able to use this website. Last updated August 2, 2026.

Our commitment

The Center is a place for everyone, and that includes our website. We work to make this site usable for visitors with vision, hearing, mobility and cognitive disabilities, and for people using screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, magnification or voice control.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. That is the standard we design and build toward. We have not had an independent accessibility audit of this site, so we do not claim full conformance or certification — accessibility is something we keep working on.

Features built into this site

  • Keyboard navigation

Menus, tabs, toggles and links can be reached and operated with Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter and the arrow keys — no mouse required.

  • Visible focus states

Whatever you have focused shows a clear outline, so you can always see where you are on the page.

  • Alternative text

Photos carry descriptive alt text, and purely decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers so they don't add noise.

  • Responsive layouts

Pages reflow from small phones to large desktops, and support browser zoom and larger text sizes without content being cut off.

  • Reduced motion

If your device is set to reduce motion, animated reveals and transitions are minimized or removed.

  • Semantic structure

Each page has one main heading and a logical heading order, with landmarks and lists marked up so assistive technology can navigate it.

  • Labelled forms and controls

Form fields have real labels, icon-only buttons have accessible names, and status changes are announced to screen readers.

Known limitations

Some content on this site comes from outside services we do not control — the membership sign-up portal, embedded maps, and documents or flyers supplied to us. The accessibility of those items depends on the provider or the original file, and some scanned or image-based flyers may not be readable by a screen reader.

If you hit a page or document you cannot use, tell us. We will help you get the information directly and fix what we can.

Report a barrier or request another format

Contact us and a real person at The Center will respond. Please tell us the page or document, what happened, and the best way to reach you. We can provide information by phone, in person, in large print, or read aloud.

You can also reach us through the contact page.
